Seth Moulton Slams Donald Trump Over Saddam Hussein Praise

Seth Moulton has taken to Facebook and spoke to several media outlets to blast Donald Trump for praising Saddam Hussein.

Mr. Moulton, a Democratic congressman from Massachusetts, is well placed to talk about the war for he is a former Marine Corps officer, who served four tours in the Iraq War.

Despite being a decorated Iraq war veteran, Moulton had and is still opposed to the war. However, he is no fan of Mr. Trump, who is also a vocal critic of the war. In a new interview, the politician said:

“I don’t consider myself in the same company at all.Donald Trump just praised Saddam Hussein. I mean he just praised Kim Jong-un. He has praised Vladimir Putin. He basically wants to ally himself with some of the worst dictators of the past century. I’m not in that company at all. I risked my life to fight against people like that.”

The harsh comments stemmed from a speech Trump made last week where he said:

“Saddam Hussein was a bad guy, right?” He was a bad guy, really bad guy. But you know what he did well? He killed terrorists. He did that so good. They didn’t read them the rights — they didn’t talk, they were a terrorist, it was over.”

In the past, Trump had stated that it would have been better if Hussein and Libya’s Muammar Gaddafi were still in power. Moulton said that Trump’s words make no sense for someone, who has been to Baghdad and has found Hussein’s real victims. He confessed:

“Shortly after we arrived there, we discovered the mass graves of tens of thousands, just north of the city. When Saddam Hussein killed ‘terrorists,’ these are the kinds of people he killed. Tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians. Those are the practices of, quote, killing terrorists, unquote, that Donald Trump is praising today.”

Moulton asked how can Trump praise an enemy leader, who was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of American soldiers including some of his friends. He added:

“It just shows.that not only does he have no clue about history, no idea about basic principles of foreign policy or how to keep America safe — it also shows he’s completely unfit to be our commander-in-chief.”

Moulton is a supporter of the presumptive Democratic nominee for president Hillary Clinton.
